Se han revelado las nominaciones a los Game Awards 2023, que honran a los mejores juegos y creadores del año. Alan Wake 2 de Remedy Entertainment y Baldur's Gate 3 de Larian Studios lideran el grupo con ocho nominaciones cada uno, incluido Juego del año. Otros nominados al Juego del Año, todos de franquicias bien establecidas, incluyen Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Bros. Wonder y The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

En la recién introducida categoría de Mejor Adaptación, películas y series como “Castlevania: Nocturne” (Netflix), “Gran Turismo” (Sony Pictures), “The Last of Us” (HBO), “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” ( Illumination/Universal Pictures) y “Twisted Metal” (Peacock) están nominados.

Nintendo lidera las nominaciones con 15, seguida de Sony Interactive Entertainment/PlayStation con 13, Xbox (incluidas Bethesda y Blizzard) con 10 y Epic Games con nueve. Los nominados, seleccionados por un jurado global entre más de 100 publicaciones de medios y medios influyentes, abarcan 112 juegos, individuos, equipos y eventos diferentes en varios géneros y plataformas.

La décima entrega anual de Game Awards se transmitirá en vivo el 7 de diciembre de 2023 desde el Peacock Theatre en Los Ángeles. El evento estará disponible en más de 30 plataformas, incluidas YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, TikTok Live y Twitter. Además de anunciar a los ganadores, el programa incluirá anuncios de estreno, avances, presentaciones de música en vivo y apariciones de celebridades.
